What you need to know!

When and where is Monumental Yoga?

Monumental Yoga 2024 will take place on Monument Circle in the heart of downtown Indy on Friday, June 21st from 4pm-9pm.

The first Monumental Yoga took place on June 21, 2013.

Where can I park my car?

There are several garages near Monument Circle: Sheraton Hotel Garage (55 W. Ohio St.); Chase Tower Garage (120 N. Pennsylvania St.); Express Park Garage (20 N. Pennsylvania St.); Market Tower Garage (139 N. Illinois St.).

Can I bring the kids?

Please do! There is a Kid’s Yoga class 5:30-6:00 pm for kids ages six and older led by Indy Yoga Movement instructors. Kid’s Yoga will take place on the South end of the Monument. Parents must be present with their kids in the family yoga section.

What is the yoga style of the community class?

It is an all-levels vinyasa class – postures flowing together. One of our goals is to make yoga accessible to everyone.

What does the event cost to attend?

This event is free or by donation. The net proceeds support Indy Yoga Movement, a local non-profit providing yoga and mindfulness to youth in Indianapolis area schools. We encourage attendees to donate any amount they can via our Eventbrite.

Who benefits from the donations?

Indy Yoga Movement is an Indianapolis nonprofit that works to empower K-12 youth to lead purposeful and healthy lives through the development of life skills using yoga, mindfulness, and other awareness practices. All donations support their school based programming.

What should I bring to Monumental Yoga?

Please bring your own yoga mat, water, and participant waiver. If you have a dark colored yoga mat, we highly recommend bringing a mat towel. The mat will be positioned in the sunlight and can become very hot. You may also want to bring a small hand towel and sunscreen.

Where do I find more information during the event?

The Monumental Yoga Booth will be located at the South spoke of Monument circle, near the Southeast corner of Meridian Street. Volunteers can check in here, too.

Who can be a sponsor?

Anyone! We have three sponsor levels and welcome corporations, local businesses, organizations, and yoga studios to apply. For the complete sponsorship packet, please email monumentalyoga@indyyoga.org.

I'm a volunteer, where do I check in?

Volunteers can check in at our Indy Yoga Movement Information Booth located on the South spoke of Monument Circle, near the Southeast corner of Meridian Street.

Who started Monumental Yoga?

The Athenaeum Foundation‘s founding principles – “Sound Mind in a Sound Body” – led its president, Cassie Stockamp, to create Monumental Yoga. Her goal? To bring the Indy yoga community together and to offer a free class to the community!
